The Czech Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) consists of a group of civilian experts dispatched by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as a contingent of the Czech Army. The civilian and military sections each have their own emblems.
The emblem of the civilian division also draws on the traditional symbols of the Czech Republic, as well as on Afghanistan’s official colors. It aspires to be a protective good luck charm shielding its bearer.
The shape of a shield has been used as a central motif designed in a neutral way, not referring to a specific time or emblem. The two translations in local languages, Pashtu and Dari, are placed over a dominant sign in Roman script, thereby gaining the forefront. The actual text “PRTeam Logar”, typed in the sans-serif font, contrasts with a vivid line with the letter “g” in calligraphic style. The calligraphy turns gradually into the shape of a heart – a symbol of help, and a linden leaf – a symbol of the Czech Republic. The color scheme of black, red and white draws on the Afghan flag and refers to the place of work of the mission.
The construction season has started just couple days ago and the engineers are keeping an eye on how the works at projects site continue. more ►
