The new dormitory will serve to those students who live in remote areas of the province. „We don´t pay any tuition here, but we spend some 200 Afghani (4 USD) for the traveling from home and back,“ said seventeen years old Samiullah, one of the current students.
During the second phase of the project, the accommodation for some 500 students will be built. The main buildings – classrooms, workshop, laboratories – have been completed in December of the last year. Currently some 62 students are attending the lessons.
„Right now we have mostly students from the central areas of Logar. The accommodation building will help us to provide better conditions for those from all other districts,“ hopes Hayatullah Qarimi, the deputy director.
The largest PRT´s project in Logar resulted so far in the first specialized high school in the province. „The quality of education here is very good. All the members of our family are farmers, so I would like to go further in this tradition,“ Samiullah said.
The ongoing project includes also the demonstration farm, which will serve mostly for the practical excersises.
